Copy protection
How the copy protection
works
Images displayed in our security applet are encrypted
and domain locked to the licensed web site. Those images
cannot be viewed from cache (temporary internet files) and
can only be viewed from your licensed web site.
The Copysafe security applet also interacts with the
Copysafe plugin which manages the functions that can be
used while a Copysafe protected page is active.
While the protected page is active, the Copysafe plugin
is active. When the protected page is closed, the plugin
becomes inactive. Collapsing a protected page window will
not de-activate the plugin... the protected page must be
closed (exited). Similarly, navigating back and forth from
a normal page (home page or site menu) to a protected page
will activate/de-activate the plugin accordingly.
If any browser window displays a Copysafe protected
page (whether collapsed or not), the Copysafe plugin will
be active for all browser windows pertaining to that web
browser family. To exit Copysafe control, all windows
displaying a Copysafe protected page must be closed.
Setting the level of
copy protection
You have complete control over the level of protection
that can be set on each page.
Each protected page uses a JavaScript insert to write
in the plugin embed tag appropriate for the web browser
being used. Several different insert.js files can be used
so that each page can call the one appropriate for the
task (level of security required). Please see
insert files for more
information.
Further to the controls set by your inserts and
templates, html, JavaScript and other scripting languages
such as ASP and PHP can be used to include/not include
many functions for restricting non-JavaScript browsers,
nominating which platforms and which browser types can
access your pages, language and IP number, search engines,
caching and print control.
Content that can be copy
protected
With care virtually anything that can be displayed in a
web browser can be copy protected when using Copysafe.
