PDF files can be protected in web browsers

Copysafe encrypts images but not other content. However Copysafe used in a frameset will protect PDF files while open in a web browser.

Preparing the frameset

1. Use a Copysafe page as the header which can be sized to only 1 pixel deep for minimal window area.

2. Frameset windows must be named and all links targeted.

3. Additional scripting is required to ensure that frames cannot be opened outside of their frameset. See provided templates.

4. Ensure that the intro frameset includes a Copysafe frame but without a Pdf in any initial frame.

Removing the PDF toolbar

To prevent use of PDF toolbar for saving, etc., you need to hide the toolbar by using code added to the PDF's html link. For example:

http://download.copysafe.net/Copysafe.pdf#toolbar=0

Link options

#toolbar=0
#toolbar=0#bookmark
#toolbar=0&zoom=85
#toolbar=0&scrollbar=0 or 1
.
